• Field Application Scientist

    Overall Objective

    NanoCellect Wolf installations are expected to grow rapidly driving the demand for high quality demos, customer training, and technical support. We are looking for a Field Applications Scientists, to be based in our (1) San Diego office and (2) in the Boston or the DC region, for training and supporting customers. If you enjoy bringing new technologies to market, embrace challenge, and are capable of fitting in a flexible and multidisciplinary environment, then this position may be for you. The successful applicant will provide complex applications support, troubleshooting and diagnosis on NanoCellect systems in life science research settings. The Field Applications Scientist will be responsible to provide operator training on instruments and teaching customers how to develop their own assays using the Wolf system. This position also has a pre-sales function and works closely as a partner with the sales and marketing team.

     

    Key Results Expected

    • Provide comprehensive technical training and support for NanoCellect Wolf technology, including hands-on lab and software training
    • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for customers in person, and via phone, email, and web
    • Provide pre and post sales technical and scientific presentations, to small groups and large audiences on the use of Wolf technology
    • Carry out laboratory projects that include customer demonstrations, proof of principle experiments, and new product evaluations/testing
    • Participate in new product development projects as a representative of the commercial and technical support teams
    • Serve as voice of the customer to product management for product improvements and new applications
    • Develop and implement training plans and course modules
    • Assist in the creation and review of technical materials including manuals, application notes, and presentations
    • Create and maintain customer contact and support related information in the company enterprise database

     

    Skills & Experience

    • Ph.D. in Biology related field (or BS/MS with equivalent experience) and strong background working in Cell Analysis is required
    • 3-5 years of hands-on laboratory experience in Cell Analysis, protein biochemistry, Immunology, drug discovery/molecular pharmacology, or related field is required.
    • Experience with Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting, and hands-on analysis of data from complex systems is preferred
    • Strong communication skills and experience delivering scientific presentations
    • Skilled in troubleshooting software, instrumentation, applications, and analysis of data from cell sorters and flow cytometers.
    • Independent thinker with excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills
    • Commitment to excellence in customer service
    • Excellent organizational skills and technical writing ability
    • Ability to travel 50% of the time

  • Engineer Research Fellowship

    NanoCellect is looking for candidates for NIH fellowship program "Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Individual Predoctoral Fellowship to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research (Parent F31 - Diversity)".     Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Participation in designing and performing experiment design and critical parameters analysis related to an NIH funded project.
    • Perform product system validation based on SOP
    • Assist in engineering development, modification, and support of existing products to explore the new feature requirements from Customer.
    • Supports in documentation and reports.
    • Travel and present at a national conference towards the end of the fellowship.
    • Learn from senior scientists and engineers about career and grad school opportunities.
    • Practice GRE or related tests for grad school entry.

     

    Qualifications & Requirements:

    • B.S. or M.S. degree in Engineering, i.e. Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering with Electronics or Electrical Engineering focus
    • Knowledge in LabVIEW, Matlab, Solidworks, Java preferred
    • Experience in general lab
    • Excellent interpersonal skills required

  • Junior Electrical Engineer/Technician

    NanoCellect Biomedical is offering a great opportunity for an early career individual to work with researchers, engineers and scientists as an Electrical Engineer in the biomedical/medical equipment industry. This position will wear multi-hats in NanCellect which include instrument installation, validation and repairing, gathering and providing detailed, data driven feedback to support efficient root cause investigation, providing quick customer service etc.

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Technical degree, professional experience or military electronics experience required.

    • Bachelor's degree preferred.

    SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

    • Must be highly self-motivated and detail oriented strong statistical/logical reasoning and critical thinking are MUST. Actively think and seek for possible solutions.

    • Must have In-depth knowledge of analog and digital circuits and signal processing

    • Using and designing LabVIEW VIs preferred

    • Working knowledge of test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, .

    • Skilled in troubleshooting software, instrumentation, applications, and analysis of data

    • Six sigma, ISO 9000, and other quality assurance experience desired

     

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Use electrical schematics to troubleshoot electrical problems

    • Remove and replace electrical components from circuit board for root cause analysis

    • Requirement gathering, assist system verification protocols, derive pass/fail criteria, implement verification protocols and generate verification reports.

    • Identify hardware issues to solve them as early in the design cycle as possible.

    • Work closely with hardware & software engineers, and quality assurance in all phases of the project including requirements definition, design, testing, and qualification.

    • Perform integration testing of the hardware, software and firmware.

    • Document and demonstrate solutions by generating documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts and clear commented automated test code.
